Frequently Asked

Questions

Is BABA a CRM (Customer Relationship Management)? A spreadsheet? An HR (Human Resources) platform? Here's the honest answer to every question buyers ask before signing up.

All Questions

Is BABA a CRM (Customer Relationship Management)?

No. A CRM tracks your prospects and clients. BABA tracks your business from the inside out. BABA won't manage your contact database or your sales pipeline. What it does instead is analyze your business health, flag early warning signs, help you set and track goals, and advise on the decisions you face as an owner. Think of it as an AI business analyst, not a contact manager.

Is BABA an accounting or bookkeeping tool?

No. BABA doesn't record transactions, manage invoices, or replace your accountant. What it does is interpret your business signals (revenue trends, team capacity, goal progress) and help you understand what they mean. BABA is designed to work alongside your accounting software (QuickBooks, Wave, Xero), not compete with it.

How is BABA different from Lattice or 15Five?

Lattice and 15Five are HR (Human Resources) platforms built for managers at mid-sized companies: performance reviews, engagement surveys, goal tracking at scale. BABA is built for the business owner, especially owners running 1–30 person teams who don't have an HR department. BABA adds what those tools don't: a CEO-level dashboard, profit and cash clarity, role clarity, financial signals, and an AI advisor who knows your specific situation. You don't need an HR team to use BABA. You just need to want to run your business better.

Is BABA a project management tool like Asana or Monday.com?

Not primarily. BABA includes project and contract tracking, but that's one component of a larger business-health picture, not the core product. If you need deep task and sprint management, keep using the tool you already have. BABA connects to the business layer above the tasks: are the right projects moving? Is the team sustainable? Are you on track with goals?

Who is BABA built for?

BABA is built for small business owners running 1–30 person teams, with a dedicated healthcare tier (Track 2, coming 2026) planned for healthcare practices. That includes solopreneurs who want a clearer view of their business, growth-stage founders managing a team, and practice owners (physical therapy, chiropractic, dental, mental health) who can use BABA today for standard business metrics, with industry-specific signals arriving in Track 2.

Who is BABA not for?

A few owners are better served elsewhere, and we'd rather say so than watch it be a bad fit. If you're at an enterprise company (100+ employees) with a dedicated ops or analytics team already in place, you already have most of what BABA gives you. An enterprise BI platform will scale better for you. If you want someone to run the business for you, not a tool that shows you what's happening, you're looking for a fractional COO or CFO. Ask us and we're happy to point you toward people we trust. And if you'd rather not look closely at your own numbers, no tool fixes that; BABA only works if you're willing to look. That's different from "not yet," though. Nonprofits, franchises, and regulated practices like law firms and financial advisories fit BABA's core model today: we're still closing a few gaps (non-financial KPI templates, franchisor-locked integrations, extra data-privacy handling) rather than ruling them out. Same with language and currency: English/USD/EUR only, for now. Not sure which one describes you? Ask us.

What does the AI Guide actually do?

The BABA Guide is an AI advisor trained on your business data: your goals, your team signals, your KPIs, your projects. You ask it questions in plain English and it answers from your actual context, not generic advice. "Why are my retention numbers down?" gets a real answer based on your data. "What should I focus on this week?" returns a prioritized recommendation, not a template. It's business analysis that knows your business.

Is my business data private?

Yes. Your data is never used to train AI models, never shared with other BABA customers, and never sold to third parties. BABA uses your data only to power your own dashboard and AI Guide. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. If you need a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) for HIPAA compliance, tell us: we'll work through what that requires, including any features that need to be scoped down, before anything is signed. See our Privacy Policy, Security page, and Data Transparency page for the full picture.

How much does BABA cost?

We're still finalizing Early Access pricing, so there's no public price yet. Join the waitlist or book a demo with Elise and we'll be in touch once it's set.

Can I cancel or switch plans at any time?

Yes on both. Cancel from your account settings with one click. No phone calls, no hoops. We retain your data for 30 days in case you change your mind. Upgrade any time and it takes effect immediately. Downgrades apply at your next billing cycle.

Does BABA integrate with other tools?

BABA connects with QuickBooks for financial data and supports Google sign-in for easy access. The integration roadmap includes additional accounting, EHR, and payroll connections, especially for our planned healthcare tier (Track 2). If there's a specific integration that would make BABA essential for your business, tell us: founding members shape the roadmap.
